Guilt navigates the mental struggle of a broken woman who desperately tries to recover form a mistake - one that her culture never forgives.

chain

She felt like a hypocrite.

Indeed, she did.

She'd done some bad things you'd never imagine she could.

She spent the night in a far off place.

And in the morning her heart ached.

Yet she'd smile to the world as though it was  all okay,

Like it was all rosy and cupcakes.

She must have the courage of a man,

For to deceive the world, in such a way she did,

Was no easy feat.

She'd post the quotes and the verses,

Half keeping up appearances,

Half trying to convince herself to pick up and move on.

Yet in her heart she knew she was damaged and wounded.

Maybe she'd hoped no one else made her mistakes,

Maybe she sought comfort in her own words.

Maybe she craved an understanding person,

Maybe she prayed for healing amid those tears.

)Maybe, just maybe, she would be free from this mental prison.
